The Terps earned three commitments on Friday.

Maryland football earned commitments from two three-star defensive players Friday: local cornerback Jayden Shipps and linebacker Travares Daniels II.

Shipps joined high school teammate and four-star quarterback Malik Washington on a 247Sports livestream, where they both announced their intentions to play for the Terps, while Daniels did so via X.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Shipps attends Archbishop Spalding in Severn, Md., and is the No. 86-ranked cornerback in his class and the No. 26-ranked player from Maryland, according to the 247Sports Composite. Alongside Washington, Shipps helped lead the Cavaliers to their second straight Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship.

He also received offers from NC State, Michigan State and Virginia.

“Why not keep it inside the DMV,” Shipps told 247Sports. “We got the best athletes.”

Daniels, listed at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, attends powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and is the No. 81-ranked linebacker in his class and the No. 105-ranked player in Florida, per the 247Sports Composite.

He also received offers from Colorado, Georgia Tech and Tennessee.

With the additions of Shipps and Daniels, Maryland’s 2025 recruiting class now consists of 15 players, including one cornerback and two linebackers.
