Arkansas State Police investigating after 19-year-old killed in Bentonville hit and run

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) --- Arkansas State Police said they found a 19-year-old who was killed in a hit and run on Interstate 530 Wednesday night.

A police report states that Kalei Owen, of Bentonville, was walking north on I-530 near Exit 27 when she was hit by a car around 10 p.m. She was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Clyde McDaniel.

ASP officials said the suspect's vehicle is believed to be a red Honda that will likely have damage to the front passenger side and missing a fog light. State troopers said the model of the car is unknown.

Road conditions and weather were marked as clear on the report.
