Arkansas State Police make arrest in deadly 2023 shooting of North Little Rock teens

SCOTT, Ark. – Arkansas State Police have arrested a man in connection to a 2023 deadly shooting that left two North Little Rock teens dead.

ASP investigators said 25-year-old Devontea Clay was arrested Monday for his involvement in the deadly shootings of 16-year-old Sucram O'Donald and 19-year-old LaMarion Gilliam.

Special agents said that they received a call about a person lying on State Highway 161 near Scott on May 23, 2023. Investigators said that Gilliam was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds and later died from injuries sustained in the shooting.

ASP officials said that O'Donald’s body was found in a nearby field near where Gilliam’s body was found. Investigators said that O'Donald has been shot several times.

ASP officials said that Clay is facing two counts of capital murder. He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.
