New combination theater and entertainment Film Alley complex coming to Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A former Little Rock theatre complex is set to reopen as a theatre and entertainment venue next year.

Schulman Theatres, Inc. said in a Thursday statement that it will open a Film Alley at the site of the former 12-screen Regal UA Breckenridge Theatre in Breckenridge Village after remodeling.

The Film Alley Little Rock venue will feature eight dine-in movie auditoriums with heated recliners seating, one of which will be a premium large-format auditorium with 4K laser projections and immersive sound. In addition to the theatres, the center will include a full redemption arcade, eight lanes of duckpin bowling, and the 5S Rock Bar.

This will be Schulman’s first venture outside of Texas, where the family-owned company has been in operation since 1926. After acquiring its first Movie Entertainment Complex in 2012, Schulman currently has seven Film Alley locations in that state, with 52 screens.

Breckenridge developer Jim Keet said that in addition to Film Alley, additional restaurant openings and expansions are in the works, and a plan is in place to apply for a temporary entertainment district designation.

Regal UA Breckenridge Theater closed in January after its corporate parent, Cineworld Group, filed for bankruptcy. At the time of its closing, Keet said at least two groups had expressed interest in the space.

Keet thanked Hank Kelley and Kelley Commercial Partners for coordinating the redevelopment of Breckenridge.
