SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Three days after purchasing a lottery ticket, a Springdale man became $1 million richer.
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said the man purchased the winning ticket for the September 16 Powerball drawing at Casey’s General Store on W. Don Tyson Park in Springdale.
The winning numbers were 8, 9, 11, 27, and 31. The Powerball number was 17, and the Power Play multiplier was 5.
ASL said the man bought the Quick Pick ticket during a routine gas stop after deciding to try his luck with spare change.
“I said, ‘Yeah, give me a Powerball ticket,’” the man shared with lottery officials.
He discovered his win the morning after the drawing and went to another convenience store to scan his ticket.
The man told ASL that he is unsure of what he will do with his winnings.
