Arkansas State Police Sgt. wins award for dedication to mental health of first responders
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A sergeant with the Arkansas State Police recently won an award for his dedication to the mental health of first responders.
According to a release from the ASP on Friday, Sergeant Chuck Lewis was presented with the United States Presidential Service Award by the National Alliance on Mental Illness’ (NAMI) Arkansas Board of Directors.
“Sgt. Lewis was recognized for his outstanding dedication to the mental health of first responders in Arkansas,” the release said. “For spending countless hours at a crucial time with first responders and their families during and after a crisis.”
NAMI Arkansas is a private, non-profit organization and their mission is to help people in the Natural State that are living with mental illness as well as their families and the community.
