Conway County deputy arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a minor

CONWAY COUNTY, Ark. – A deputy with the Conway County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested and is facing charges of sexually assaulting a minor.
According to a post on social media, the CCSO was contacted in early January by agents with the Arkansas State Police’s Crimes Against Children Division in reference to allegations of sexual assault between an unnamed deputy and a minor.
In the post, officials said that the deputy was immediately placed on administrative leave and during the investigation, he submitted his resignation for retirement.
Officials said that on Saturday, new information was reported to the sheriff’s office from the victim’s family regarding another allegation of sexual contact between the minor and Joseph Taylor Dube, who was still employed with the CCSO and was a family friend of the victim.
Based on interviews and information obtained by detectives, Dube was taken into custody and is facing charges of sexually grooming a child and rape.
Officials said that Dube was immediately terminated by the CCSO and transported to a separate facility.
In a release by the CCSO, officials said that the sheriff’s office doesn’t condone the actions of Dube and will not tolerate them in any degree or manner.
“The Conway County Sheriff’s Office strives to be transparent with our citizens to the fullest extent possible without jeopardizing ongoing investigations. We, as a law enforcement agency are committed to serving our community, we do not condone any of the actions in these incidents and will not tolerate them to any degree or in any manner,” the release said. “The Conway County Sheriff’s Office will continue to fully cooperate with and support the Arkansas State Police in their investigation into these incidents. These actions are not a reflection of the values held at the Conway County Sheriff’s Office, and we are saddened, disappointed, and angered by them.”
