Jacksonville man facing negligent homicide charge in connection with Jefferson County deputy deadly crash

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas State Police arrested a Jacksonville man in connection with a motorcycle crash that killed a Jefferson County deputy nearly two years ago.
According to ASP officials, 37-year-old Princeton Lemar Settles was arrested Wednesday in connection to the off-duty death of Deputy Justin Tomlinson.
On Aug. 5, 2023, special agents said Settles was driving in Jacksonville when he crossed the center line on Highway 294 near Park Drive and hit Tomlinson on a motorcycle, killing the deputy.
Tomlinson was off duty at the time of the crash, ASP officials said.

Settles is facing a felony negligent homicide charge in connection to the deadly crash. He is being held at the Pulaski County Detention Facility.
