Operation April Fool ends with 21 Arkansas arrests by US Marshals in Sebastian and Crawford counties

FORT SMITH, Ark. – A three-day operation by the U.S. Marshals Service in western Arkansas ended with the arrests of most-wanted offenders in the Sebastian and Crawford County area.
Marshals officials said Operation April Fool resulted in 21 arrests of violent offenders wanted on state charges. Marshals led the April 1 – 3 effort with multiple agencies to seek out repeat violent offenders and those with outstanding state felony warrants.
Officials said the 21 are facing charges including aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, sexual assault, battery, felon in possession of firearms, possession and distribution of narcotics, kidnapping and parole violations with extensive criminal history.
The U.S. Marshals Service Western Arkansas Fugitive Task Force led the effort that included the FBI and USMS task force officers from the Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Community Correction, Sebastian, Baxter and Benton County sheriff’s departments, and the police departments of Fort Smith, Van Buren, Alma, Mountain Home, Bentonville and Rogers.
