Little Rock makes ‘Top 100 Best Places to Live’ list 

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock was ranked in the “Top 100 Best Places to Live 2025” list on Livability.com.

Officials with the website said the ranking comes from sorting through data from Applied Geographic Solutions to come up with its scores. Nearly 100 data points are used through an algorithm to measure local economies, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health.

The ranking gave Little Rock a 644 out of a possible score of 1,000, with the top categories in ranking the city being housing and cost of living, transportation and amenities. Housing ranked especially well at 64 out of 100, factoring things like tax rates, percent below poverty level and rental & home affordability.

The study also found the average commute for those living in Little Rock was 17 minutes, and the median household income was $106,657.

Little Rock’s 664 score put it just ahead of cities such as Wichita, Kansas, and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the latter just south of Nashville. Tampa, Florida, and Salem, Oregon, scored just ahead of Little Rock in the top 100 index.

Flower Mound, Texas, on the northwest Dallas border, placed highest in the ranking with an 875 score. The town is named after the field of wildflowers on an elevated mound in the center of town.

Augusta, Georgia, came in at 100 with a 663 ranking, just ahead of Rapid City, South Dakota, with a 634.
