Little Rock Trojans baseball team wins 2025 Ohio Valley Conference tournament championship
MARION, Ill. – One year after the Little Rock Trojans baseball team won the program’s first-ever Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship, they have now claimed their first OVC tournament title.
The 8-seed Trojans won the championship after beating the 1-seed Eastern Illinois Panthers for the second time this week. They won the title game 2-1 after taking the lead with runs in the 7th and 8th inning when pitcher Jack Cline finished the game in the bottom of the 9th, beginning the celebration.
Little Rock made it into the tournament after Eastern Illinois beat Western Illinois 9-7 on May 17, giving the Trojans the final spot in the tournament.
The title comes during the program’s historic 50th season which also saw the Trojans upset the Ole Miss Rebels on April 15 in Oxford.
With the win, the Trojans will now take their first trip to an NCAA Regional in 14 years. They will learn what regional they'll be playing in during a selection show Monday on ESPN2.
