Wife’s birthday even happier after husband scratches off a $50,000 Arkansas Scholarship Lottery win

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A Paragould couple has 50,000 reasons to shout “Happy Birthday” after the husband’s Arkansas Scholarship Lottery win.

ASL officials said Timothy Augustyniak of Paragould won $50,000 playing the $50,000 Frenzy $20 scratch-off game. Augustyniak picked up his winnings at the Lottery Claim Center on May 21.

Officials said Augustyniak stopped for gas and purchased the ticket at the Kum & Go on Linwood Drive in Paragould while driving his wife to her birthday dinner. He scratched his ticket while in the store and found out he just won the $50,000 jackpot.

He told officials he excitedly went back to the car to show his wife. She sent him back inside the store to scan the ticket and verify the win, where he confirmed winning the big prize.

“This is the biggest prize of my life,” Augustyniak said. “It happened!”
