Arkansas Department of Public Safety updates missing person webpage to real-time format
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – An update to the Arkansas missing persons webpage promises to provide information faster.
Arkansas Crime Information Center officials announced Friday that they had made a significant update to the NeverForgotten.AR.gov webpage. From now on, the webpage will be updated in real time, officials said.
The NeverForgotten webpage was launched in 2016. It provides access to a searchable database of missing individuals from Arkansas. It will now be updated every time a missing person is reported to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) by law enforcement, or when a formerly missing person has been found.
Additionally, Arkansas State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service will be alerted when a missing person is entered into the system.
Previously, the page was updated weekly. Officials said the change to real-time allows access to the most current information, especially important when a juvenile is missing and a possible victim of trafficking.
“Any missing person, regardless of age, is important,” said Arkansas State Police Major Stacie Rhoads. “We will continue to work together to find innovative ways to bring them home.”
Officials said Arkansas has over 400 unsolved missing person cases, ranging in age from 1 to 91 years old.
