NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Since CHI St. Vincent Field at Dickey-Stephens Park (DSP) first opened in 2007, future MLB stars like Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodriguez, George Kirby and Mike Trout have played there for the hometown Arkansas Travelers.

Travs fans have also gotten to watch several future All-Stars, World Series winners and potential Hall of Famers emerge from the visiting team’s dugout.

Prior to the start of the 2025 season, MLB.com released a ranking of the 100 best players in the game. More than 20 players on that list, including two of the top 10, have played at least one game with or against the Travs in North Little Rock.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Several of the leaders in votes for this season’s All-Star Game have played in central Arkansas on their way to “the show” including some with World Series rings courtesy of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Though Cody Bellinger currently plays for the Yankees, he and current Dodgers catcher Will Smith each played at DSP with the Tulsa Drillers, they also won a World Series together in 2020. Current Dodgers potential all-stars Teoscar Hernández, Tommy Edman and Max Muncy have played in North Little Rock as well.

Texas Rangers

Another MLB player named Will Smith, this one a pitcher, played at DSP during his time in the minors as a member of the Arkansas Travelers. He also won three World Series rings in a row with three different teams, including one with the 2023 Texas Rangers.

Other members of the World Series-winning Rangers that have played at DSP during their careers include Adolis Garcia with the Springfield Cardinals and Jonah Heim with the Midland RockHounds. Leody Taveras and Josh Jung also played at the stadium with the Rangers’ Double-A affiliate Frisco RoughRiders.

San Diego Padres

Two stars in the San Diego Padres outfield that also patrolled the outfield at DSP with the San Antonio Missions in their careers are Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jackson Merrill.

Tatis played against the Travs to start the 2018 season before getting called up. In August of 2023, Jackson Merrill played a series at DSP and even hit a home run.
