Baptist Health Community Outreach set for free summer cooking classes
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansans looking to break out of the takeout grind can take advantage of monthly cooking classes from Baptist Health Community Outreach.
Officials said the Cooking with Community Outreach classes are a chance to learn how to make simple yet tasty, low-cost and healthy meals. The courses are taught by Baptist Health registered dietitian Samantha Stadter, who designed the classes to help prospective chefs gain confidence in the kitchen.
Students will cook and taste different dishes in each class, made with a variety of ingredients. Topics include nutrition benefits, ingredient selection, money-saving tips and more.
Classes are held on Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Baptist Health Community Outreach, 10117 Kanis Road in Little Rock:
- Thursday, July 24: Cheesy stuffed bell peppers
- Thursday, Aug. 14: Crispy baked chicken and ranch dressing
- Thursday, Sept. 11: Zesty sheet pan fajitas and guacamole
Best part: Community Outreach staff handles the cleanup.
To register for one of the Cooking with Community Outreach classes listed, visit bit.ly/BHCookingClass or call Baptist Health Community Outreach at 501-202-1540. Registration will open three weeks before each class.
