Video: Central Arkansas Library System main library announces major remodel
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Central Arkansas Library System main branch will reopen after undergoing renovations.
CALS officials have invited the community to celebrate the reopening at the Library Square from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. The main library is located in the River Market District at 100 Rock Street.
The location closed to the public in September 2023, with construction continuing into 2025. Changes to the library include a video production studio, podcasting rooms, teaching kitchens, a rooftop patio and more.
Remodeling the library was funded through 2021 and 2022 millages. The budget for redesigning the library was $25 million, but there was a budget increase to add features.
