Hall of Fame pitcher Ferguson ‘Fergie’ Jenkins to join Eighth Hot Springs Baseball Weekend lineup
HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Ark. - Hall of Fame pitcher Ferguson “Fergie” Jenkins will join the lineup for an annual baseball event in Hot Springs.
Jenkins will attend the Eighth Annual Baseball Weekend Aug. 8-9. He is a former pitcher who played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox from 1965 to 1983. He played most of his career for the Cubs.
Jenkins will join stars including Bret Saberhagen, Bill Lee, Hall of Famer Johnny Bench, Fergie Jenkins, Al Hrabosky and Steve Garvey.
“Some of the greatest former players in the game and the best of the world’s young players will be in Hot Springs at the same time,” Visit Hot Springs CEO Steve Arrison said. “Fans will get to interact with legends like crowd favorite Johnny Bench and newcomers Bill Lee, Bret Saberhagen and Steve Garvey and at the same time have the opportunity to watch the best 14-year-old players in the world compete at our great Majestic Park complex, where The Babe himself once played and practiced.”
The event is free and open to the public.
