LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Little Rock Zoo announced the birth of a male colobus monkey just ahead of International Primate Day events this weekend.
Zoo officials said the baby was born July 29 to parents Thumbelina and Azizi, and both mother and infant are healthy.
The newborn remains close to his mother but will soon begin playing with his siblings, officials said.
The zoo also shared that visitors can contribute to the baby’s care through an Amazon Wishlist created for the colobus family’s enrichment.
International Primate Day will be recognized at the zoo with special events on Saturday, Aug. 30, officials said.
