NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Travelers, continuing their playoff push, have received another infusion of talent ahead of their upcoming homestand. On Sunday, MLB.com announced that the Seattle Mariners’ top prospect and a switch-pitching sensation are headed to CHI St. Vincent Field at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Emerson, the Mariners’ top prospect, is ranked No. 15 overall on MLB Pipeline. The 20-year-old was recently named Hitter of the Month in the team’s farm system. He was a first-round pick in the 2023 draft and has 11 homers, 51 RBI and a .281 batting average this season with the High-A Everett AquaSox.

Selected in the first round of the 2024 draft, Netherlands-born Jurrangelo Cijntje has impressed fans with his ambidextrous pitching since appearing with Curacao in the 2016 Little League World Series. He began his professional journey with the AquaSox in April and recently pitched with both arms in the Futures Game. He has struck out 83 hitters and posted a 4.58 ERA over 74.2 innings pitched in High-A.

With Sunday’s promotions, the Travelers now feature four of the top 10 prospects in the Mariners system and four of the top 100 prospects in the MLB. Lazaro Montes, who was called up on June 24, has hit seven homers, and Michael Arroyo has 32 hits in 107 at-bats with 12 extra-base hits and a .299 average.

The Travelers and their new prospects will be in action at home this week against the Frisco RoughRiders, who feature MLB Pipeline’s No. 4 prospect Sebastian Walcott; there will also be Friday fireworks and a chance to meet Bluey and Bingo on Saturday.
