Arkansas Department of Education releases school letter grades for 2024-2025
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas Department of Education released the school letter grades for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Friday release marked the first year of the state’s updated accountability formula.
Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders explained the update in the context of her signature LEARNS Act.
“LEARNS is all about improving the way we educate kids in Arkansas, and our new letter grade formula, alongside the new ATLAS exam, allows us to do that with a better, more full picture of where each of our students and schools stand,” the governor said. “We never want to settle until every child in Arkansas has a pathway to success and with this additional information and the new resources now available through the LEARNS Act, we are creating opportunities to help every student across the state."
ADE Secretary Jacob Oliva added, “These results offer consistent, comparable measures that schools can use to celebrate progress and plan targeted improvements. Our focus remains on ensuring every Arkansas student learns and grows each year.”
Statewide, 122 schools received an A grade, 291 schools earned a B, 352 schools received a C, 137 schools received a D and 130 schools received an F. Schools were provided a simulated grade for the 2023-2024 year so they could understand the updated formula.
Scores are posted for review on the ADE website.
