Arkansas gas prices jump up 5 cents
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – As summer nears, drivers in Arkansas are seeing an increase at the gas pumps.
According to AAA, the statewide gas price average is $3.24 for a gallon of unleaded fuel, which is five cents higher than last week.
Throughout the state, drivers in Cleveland County are paying the most at the pumps with an average price of $3.49, while drivers in Drew County are paying the least with an average of $3.09.
In central Arkansas, Pine Bluff drivers are paying $3.18 per gallon. Gas prices in Hot Springs and the Little Rock-North Little Rock area are slightly below at $3.17.
AAA officials are crediting the price increase to supply and demand as well as summer blend gasoline coming onto the market.
“The ingredients are just right to force fuel prices higher across much of Arkansas,” Chabarria said. “That said, drivers are paying the same price per gallon as they did this time last year.”
AAA reported Thursday that drivers in Arkansas are paying the 5th lowest gas price average in the country.
The national gas price average is $3.67 per gallon.
