North Little Rock police identify suspect in Wednesday officer-involved shooting

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Police in North Little Rock have released additional information on the Wednesday evening shooting that left two injured, including an officer with the North Little Rock Police Department.

NLRPD officials said officers responded to the 1300 block of Silverwood Trail around 6:19 p.m. for a reported burglary in progress.

Authorities said an officer then made contact with 30-year-old James Bradshaw III, whose description matched the suspect from the call, in the 6900 block of Flintrock Road. During the encounter, police said Bradshaw and the officer exchanged gunfire.

According to police, a second NLRPD officer, who was off-duty and in the immediate area, intervened and fired their service weapon.

Police said that the officer that was struck was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

Officials said that Bradshaw was also taken to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later taken to custody.

Bradshaw is being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility without bond. He is facing multiple charges including attempt to commit capital murder, battery first degree and possession of firearms by certain persons.
