Our House shelter holds summer kickoff party

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Our House hosted a summer kickoff celebration Saturday morning at their Roosevelt Road location.

The shelter empowers homeless and near-homeless families and individuals to succeed in the workforce, school and life.

Over 25 vendor booths shared information from Our House community partners.

There was also face painting, free haircuts, games, food and music.

"We just wanted to expand our services, and knowledge of our services to the community, Pulaski County," Our House Stability Program Manager Rachel Nichols said.

"We have employment coaches here, people can come out if they're looking for jobs, we have on-site licensed daycare facility, we have an abundance of resources for anybody that is looking to get ahead, to help them get ahead,” Disability Coordinator Ezell Breedlove said.

Our House recently doubled its housing capacity for families with a more than 27,000-square-foot expansion.
