Arkansas State Police investigating Interstate 40 shooting that leaves teen dead, two injured

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas State Police are investigating a deadly early morning shooting on Interstate 40 that left a teenager dead, and two others injured.

According to a post on social media, troopers arrived at Arkansas Children’s Hospital at 3:45 a.m. where they said a 20-year-old Little Rock man had transported three teens who had been shot. The man said the teens were in a vehicle he was driving westbound on I-40 in Protho Junction near North Little Rock.

Troopers said that a 17-year-old male from Little Rock had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead. They also said that an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old had been shot with one being treated and released with the other still hospitalized.

Officials said that two other passengers, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old were not injured.

Police have not released the name of the teen that was killed or any information regarding a possible suspect.
