Arkansas organization acts to assist Jefferson County employees with food, more

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. – An organization is stepping in to fill the gap for Jefferson County employees who are not being paid due to the lack of an approved budget.

Heroes Behind the Lines (HBL) is working with several partner groups to provide Jefferson County government employees a meal, resources and supplies from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the White Hall Community Center.

Officials with the organization said it has partnered with Pulaski County, Arkansas Sheriff’s Office, NLC Pine Bluff, White Hall Arkansas, Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel, New Hope Baptist Church, and Saint Mark Baptist Church in putting on the event.

Officials said they are accepting donations of toiletries and non-perishable food items for the event. Donations can be dropped off at either the White Hall Community Center or Robinson & Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel.
