Saline County warming center reopening ahead of frigid temperatures

BENTON, Ark. – The Saline County warming center will reopen this weekend as temperatures are expected to drop going into next week.
The Northside Church of Christ in Benton will open 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 through noon Wednesday, Jan. 22. The church is located at 917 North East Street, next door to Saline Memorial Hospital.
The warming center will open ahead of an Arctic blast making temperatures feel like the single digits and teens Monday and Tuesday. Wind chills could potentially drop near zero, so everyone is advised to limit time outdoors.
County officials said the warming center is in need of volunteers to assist with operations. Volunteers can sign up at Tinyurl.com/SCWarming25.
