Arkansas Division of Emergency Management opens aid centers for tornado victims

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Arkansas Division of Emergency Management has opened centers to provide aid to those affected by the March 14 tornadoes.

ADEM officials said volunteer organizations will be that following locations to provide resources.

Thursday, March 27, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Diaz City Fire Department (3401 S Main Street Newport, AR 72112)

Friday, March 28, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Cave City First Assembly (437 N Main Street Cave City, AR 72521)

Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Belview Baptist Church (132 Knob Creek Road Melbourne, AR 72556)

Sunday, March 30, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Shannon Baptist Church (1706 Pace Road Pocahontas, AR 72455)

National Weather Service officials confirmed that at least 15 tornadoes touched down in the state during the storms, leaving debris and damaged homes. Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders requested a Major Disaster Declaration from President Donald Trump Jr. to support recovery efforts.

Officials with the ADEM said these are not registration sites for state of federal assistance.
