PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The City of Pine Bluff is now searching for a new fire chief and chief of police.
Ward Three Council Member Lanette Frazier confirmed Tuesday that Pine Bluff Fire Department chief Shauwn Howell was fired by Mayor Vivian Flowers.
No reason has been shared for the firing.
Pine Bluff Police Department Chief Denise Richardson had also been fired by Flowers on Monday.
“This decision is made without cause and is not a reflection of your job performance but rather my decision to go in a different direction with the Pine Bluff Police Department,” Flowers wrote in a letter to Richardson.
An interim police chief, Deputy Chief Shirley Warrior, was sworn in Tuesday morning.
