Arkansas grant adds drones to existing North Little Rock Police Department fleet
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A grant to the North Little Rock Police Department is allowing it to place more drones in law enforcement operations.
LRPD officials said the $69,117 grant from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety allows the department to purchase seven additional drones to enhance its existing 10-drone fleet.
“We are incredibly grateful to the State of Arkansas for this grant,” NLRPD Chief Patrick Thessing said. “This grant allows us to expand our drone program in a way that will directly improve officer safety, operational effectiveness, and better serve the citizens of North Little Rock.”

Officials said the drones would provide operational support, including search-and-rescue, crime scene documentation and tactical needs.
