Arkansas opening some revenue offices Saturday for REAL ID access
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Several revenue offices across Arkansas will open Saturday for those needing a REAL ID as the deadline approaches.
A REAL ID will be required to board a flight and enter certain federal buildings or a nuclear plant beginning May 7.
The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration will open the following revenue offices from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26:
- Little Rock Revenue Office (Ragland Building): 1900 West 7th Street
- Fayetteville Revenue Office: 3086 West Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard
- Jonesboro Revenue Office: 206 Southwest Drive
- Texarkana Revenue Office: 801 East 4th Street
- Monticello Revenue Office: 506 West Gaines
To receive a REAL ID, the federal government requires Arkansans to confirm proof of residency, legal presence and identity and Social Security number through these forms of documentation:
- Passport or birth certificate
- Two proof of address documents such utility bills or bank statements (dated within the last six months)
- Proof of identity (Current Driver’s License, School or Work ID card, etc.)
- Social Security card
- Name change justification (Marriage Certificate, Divorce Decree, Court order, etc.)
The cost of a REAL ID does not differ from getting or renewing a regular license or ID. It is $10 to transfer an existing expiration date on a license or ID to a REAL ID. The price is $40 for a new, eight-year period until expiration.
