Arkansas Department of Corrections searching for inmate escaped from North Central Unit
CALICO ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas Department of Corrections are searching for an inmate that they said escaped from its North Central Unit on Sunday.
According to a post on social media, 56-year-old Grant Hardin escaped at approximately 3:40 p.m.
Hardin is a former Police Chief in Gateway and had been incarcerated at the North Central Unit since 2017. He is currently serving a 30-year sentence for first-degree murder and an additional sentence for rape.
DOC officials and the Division of Community Correction are working with local, state and federal law enforcement to follow leads.
