Pine Bluff police officer injured in pursuit, suspect at large
PINE BLUFF, Ark. – A Pine Bluff police officer was injured Saturday after their patrol vehicle crashed into a telephone pole during a high-speed pursuit.
According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, the officer was attempting to pull over a vehicle when the driver fled.
The officer followed the suspect's car, which made a sharp turn at the intersection of Hutchinson Street and Dollarway Road. While following, the officer swerved and hit a telephone pole, totaling their vehicle.
The officer, who has not been named, was treated for minor injuries at Jefferson Regional Medical Center and has since been released to recover at home.
Police said they have since recovered the suspect's vehicle but that the driver remains at large.
