Four inmates charged, held without bond in stabbing deaths at Jefferson County jail

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. – Four inmates are facing charges after an incident at W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center in Jefferson County left two dead.

Officials with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Darnell Ford, 25-year-old Terencio Wyrick, 24-year-old Kamaren Wainwright and 21-year-old Kedrick Love are each facing two counts of capital murder and use of a weapon by an incarcerated person.

According to JCSO officials, the incident happened during a fight involving multiple inmates around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Officials said staff removed two injured inmates, identified as 24-year-old Darion Williams and 22-year-old Danard Harris, and began lifesaving efforts, but both men died at the scene.

Authorities said the judge ordered that Ford, Wyrick, Wainwright and Love, who were all being held on a string of different charges in several different cases, be issued a no-bond hold for their alleged involvement in the deaths of Harris and Williams.

"This remains a deeply tragic incident," Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr. said. "We appreciate the court's prompt attention and will continue working closely with prosecutors to pursue justice while maintaining the safety and security of our facility."

JCSO officials said the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
