Arkansas enters a 'blood emergency shortage,' organizations ask for donations
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas is currently experiencing a blood emergency supply shortage and organizations are searching for donations.
Carvin Brown from Our Blood Institute and Bo Ryall from the Arkansas Hospital Association stopped by KARK 4 News to talk about the increasing supply shortage and encourage Arkansans to donate.
“With our recent winter we've seen a lot of blood drives and appointments cancel,” Brown said. “So, we are really urging the community to come out and donate and replenish our inventory to a level that we don't see any increases in our inability to serve patients.”
All blood types are currently needed. Those interested in donating can visit OBI.org/Emergency for donation locations and more information.
