Officer cleared in woman's Christmas Eve shooting death

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A police officer in Hughes, Arkansas has been cleared in the death of a woman who was shot on Christmas Eve.

The Prosecuting Attorney's Office ruled that Officer Mabry Green was justified in the use of deadly force in the shooting, according to Arkansas State Police on Saturday.

Allie Kundert, 26, was armed with a weapon and causing a disturbance outside the Hughes Church of God at 802 Main Street, authorities said.

In a letter to ASP, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Mary Hoshall Reeves said, “During this interaction, Kundert did not comply with commands, acted in an erratic matter and ultimately reached for a pistol located in her waistband, which prompted Officer Green to discharge his service weapon.”
