Two juveniles arrested in Hot Springs double homicide investigation

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Hot Springs Police Department has made two arrests in connection with a Friday evening shooting that left two people dead.

Authorities said two juveniles were arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of 20-year-old Adrianna Howell and 20-year-old Mahayla Swayze.

On Friday, officers responded to the 200 block of Beard Street around 5:15 p.m. for a shooting call. When they arrived, officers said they found two victims, later identified as Howell and Swayze, sitting inside a parked car with gunshot wounds.

Police said Howell was declared dead on the scene and Swayze was taken to a local hospital for her injuries, which she later died from on Sunday.

Hot Springs PD officials said detectives later identified multiple juvenile suspects in connection with the shooting, arresting two of them. Police said they are seeking a third arrest in the investigation as well.

Officials said the juveniles who were arrested are both facing two charges of capital murder and a charge of aggravated robbery.
