Little Rock community members hold Pilgrimage for Peace remembrance service
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Community leaders gathered Sunday afternoon in the Capital City to remember victims of violence.
The Pilgrimage for Peace crossed from Little Rock to North Little Rock, ending with a remembrance service at the Beacon of Peace and Hope on Riverfront Drive.
During the service, names of the victims of violence were read by volunteers.
Little Rock police chief Heath Helton was among those taking part in the service as a Keynote speaker.
"There's not a magic formula, it is literally going to take all of us working together to make this happen, so we can break the cycles of trauma to build healthy and safer communities,” Helton stated.
More than 20 groups of supporters and sponsors assisted with this year's event.
This is the 10th year for the pilgrimage for peace.
