Little Rock Zoo announces birth of new monkey baby

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Little Rock Zoo announced a new addition to their Angolan Colobus troop on Saturday.

According to a post on social media, Thumbelina and Azizi welcomed their second offspring on Oct. 30.

Their first child, Ngumu, is a year-and-a-half old and has already begun checking out his new sibling, gently touching it.

Zoo officials said that Thumbelina and the baby are keeping the gender under wraps, but hope to find out soon.

The Little Rock Zoo works with the Angolan Colobus Species Survival Plan, which helps to protect the species in zoos and in the wild.
