Man killed in Camden shooting, two taken into custody
CAMDEN, Ark. – Police in Camden are investigating after a man was killed in a Sunday shooting.
According to the Camden Police Department, officers were called to Ivory Heights after receiving reports of someone being shot around 1:40 a.m. Sunday.
Officers said the victim was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. Police officials have not released the victim’s identity.
During an investigation, investigators identified Marcus Epps as a suspect in the shooting. Officers said they went to a home in Camden for a follow up, but the homeowner, Trameisha Tooks, did not comply with the investigation.
Officers said a search warrant was issued for the home along with an arrest warrant for Epps. During the search warrant, officers said they found Epps, and he was taken into custody.
Epps is facing a capital murder charge. Police said Tooks was also taken into custody and is facing charges of hindering the apprehension and prosecution.
