Project Zero and Arkansas DCFS host inaugural ‘Chasing Zero’ 5K
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – As part of National Adoption Month, Project Zero and the Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services partnered up for their inaugural Chasing Zero 5K and 1 mile fun run.
Hundreds of runners gathered at the North Shore River Walk Saturday morning, with the winner sharing an important message.
According to a post on social media, Emma the 14-year-old cross country runner who won the race was adopted from foster care in pre-school.
“So, the overall winner of a race whose sole purpose is to raise awareness about kids who are waiting in foster care to be adopted, was herself adopted from foster care,” the post said. “It blew our minds and reaffirmed that God is in the details and our work matters to him!”
