Arkansas teen sentenced to 30 years for murdering mother

BOONEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Logan County teenager will spend the next three decades in prison after killing his mother in 2022, according to court documents.

William Frost, 18, pleaded guilty on Dec. 20 to second-degree murder in Logan County Circuit Court in Booneville.

On Aug. 7, 2022, Frost took his mother's .357 caliber handgun into his bedroom and waited there before shooting and killing her. He was 16 years old at the time of the murder, according to court documents.

Frost was initially charged with first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty to that charge.

After more than two years of continuances and delays, Frost entered a guilty plea to a second-degree murder charge during a hearing.

Frost's jury trial was set to begin in April 2025 after being pushed back multiple times.

He was sentenced to 30 years in prison and credited with 867 days already served.
