Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport breaks ground on $4.1 million curbside canopy project
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock is making upgrades to its site with a $4.1 million canopy project.
The airport broke ground on its new curbside canopy Wednesday, which officials say will provide improvements including upgraded security, lighting, wheelchair accessibility and more.
The project is expected to be completed in fall 2025.
“Passenger needs are constantly evolving, and we’re committed to providing a superior customer experience,” Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission chairman Bill Walker said. “A busy, vibrant airport drives economic growth and enhances the quality of life for Arkansans. We take pride in being a vital connector and serving as the first and last impression for many visitors to Little Rock.”
Officials with the airport said federal and local airport funds were used to support the addition.
Airport officials said construction will not affect the busy holiday travel season, adding that the process will ramp up after the new year. During construction, officials said the airport will use signs and staff to moderate traffic.
