Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders named Arkansan of the Year by Easterseals Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Easterseals Arkansas named Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders its Arkansan of the Year for 2025 on Thursday.
Easterseals officials said the award was due to her “outstanding leadership and dedication to improving the lives of Arkansans.”
Officials cited explicitly the governor’s work in constructing a new school for children with disabilities, culminating in the 2024 groundbreaking of the Easterseals Academy. The state’s Restricted Reserve Fund provided some of the money for the project.
“Every student in Arkansas deserves a quality education. That’s why I signed Arkansas LEARNS and created the Education Freedom Account program to help more kids attend the school of their choice, including Easterseals,” Sanders said in response to the award. “Thank you, Easterseals, for this incredible honor and for supporting Arkansas’ kids.”
