LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – It’s no secret that the Natural State has produced its fair share of football stars over the years, including several future Super Bowl champions.
Colleges in Arkansas have also produced their fair share of future Super Bowl champions over the years as well. According to data from Pro Football Reference, 10 colleges from the Natural State have produced at least one Super Bowl champion.
"It is always a huge deal when you have one of your own alums in a Super Bowl,” University of Central Arkansas head coach Nathan Brown said. “It is an example of hard work and dedication finding its way to the pinnacle of the profession. The pride that is felt when your logo is represented by a professional athlete on the biggest stage is priceless."

Three colleges in the Natural State have had one champion a piece including Harding’s Tank Daniels with the 2007 Giants, Irvin Phillips from Arkansas Tech with the Raiders in 1983 and Henderson State’s Todd Jones who won with the 1992 Dallas Cowboys.
A Pair of Titles

A pair of Southern Arkansas Muleriders alumni won Super Bowls including Dennis Woodberry with Washington as well as Tanner Hudson who won with Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. Philander Smith graduate Elijah Pitts won each of the first two Super Bowls with the Green Bay Packers and Ouachita Baptist alumni Cliff Harris won two with the Dallas Cowboys in the 70s.

Former Bears alumni Monte Coleman won three rings with Washington and wide receiver Willie Davis has won three as part of the Kansas City Chiefs front office staff. Defensive back Robert Rochell got a ring with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and Tremon Smith got one with Kansas City to conclude the 2019 season.

The Red Wolves have had five different players win rings over the years including Maurice Carthon who won two with the Giants. Bryan Hall and Kyle Richardson each won a ring with the Baltimore Ravens, Ray Brown got one with Washington for the 1991 season and Don Jones got one with the New England Patriots in 2014.

The Golden Lions have also had five alumni win Super Bowl rings with the most coming from L.C. Greenwood who won four with the Pittsburgh Steelers as part of their Steel Curtain defense. Defensive end Bob Brown received rings with the Green Bay Packers as part of their first two championship teams and Greg Briggs won two with the Dallas Cowboys. Other champions from the school include Chris Akins with the New England Patriots and Ceasar Belser who got a ring in Super Bowl IV with the Kansas City Chiefs

Without question or surprise, the Arkansas school with the most Super Bowl champions is the Razorbacks who have had at least 26 former players and countless former coaches win titles.
