No. 15 Maryland women’s basketball guards Shyanne Sellers and Kaylene Smikle were named to the All-Big Ten first team, the conference announced Tuesday. Bri McDaniel earned an All-Big Ten honorable mention.

Sellers was named to the first team by both coaches and the media. It’s the second straight year she has received such honor from both groups, and the third straight season from the media. Sellers averaged 14.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game this season.

Smikle was named to the first team by the media and the second team by coaches. It is the second time she has been named to an All-conference team, earning second-team honors from both the coaches and the media her freshman year at Rutgers. Smikle averaged 17.9 points 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game this season.

McDaniel earned an honorable mention by the media despite only playing 17 games this season due to injury. She averaged 10.6 points, 2.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game.

Sarah Te-Biasu was also named a sportsmanship honoree.

No Maryland players were named to the All-Big Ten defensive team. Christina Dalce did not make the cut after being last season’s Big East Defensive Player of the Year at Villanova.
