Arkansas Travelers host Razorback football legend Darren McFadden for Faith and Family Night

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Prior to Saturday night’s matchup between the Arkansas Travelers and San Antonio Missions, the Travs held a Q&A session with Arkansas Razorbacks football legend Darren McFadden as part of Faith and Family Night.

As the Missions took batting practice in the background, McFadden sat on the first base dugout next to Steven Davis, voice of the Travelers, and discussed the evolution of his faith throughout his life.

After his Q&A session, McFadden did a meet and greet with fans where he signed autographs and took pictures. He also threw out the first pitch, which was caught by former Razorback and current Traveler Caleb Cali.

During his career as running back for the Arkansas Razorbacks, McFadden won the Doak Walker Award and Jim Brown Trophy as the best running back in college football back-to-back years in 2006 and 2007. He was also elected into the College Football Hall of Fame, the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame and was on the cover for the Xbox 360 version of “NCAA Football 09.”

McFadden, a Little Rock native, was drafted by the Oakland Raiders with the 4th pick in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2015 to 2017 and racked up 5,421 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns total during his career.

The Travs won the game on a walk-off hit from Blake Rambusch to stay in the hunt for first place in the Texas League North Division. They complete their homestand against the Missions on Sunday afternoon.
