Two Little Rock students head for Broadway after winning awards for musical theatre

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Two students from Pulaski Academy are on their way to New York City’s Broadway after winning a local competition.

Sascha Bass and Collin Carlton will represent central Arkansas in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, otherwise known as the Jimmy Awards, on June 23. The pair earned their slots after winning the first annual Broadway Bound Awards of Central Arkansas on May 5.

The Arkansas event was by Celebrity Attractions in partnership with Argenta Contemporary Theatre and featured 22 students from 11 area schools.

Bass is a sophomore at Pulaski Academy, where she is a part of the performing arts program and a dance team member. Carlton is a junior at Pulaski Academy, and part of the performing arts program and a state champion wrestler.

Both Bass and Carlton had roles in the recent local production of Alice By Heart, and are members of the pre-professional company at the Arkansas Rep and Argenta Contemporary theatres
