Fireworks & Foodtrucks celebration returns to Sherwood on July 3

SHERWOOD, Ark. – The city of Sherwood is inviting the public to join in its celebration this July.

Officials said the city’s Fireworks and Foodtruck Festival is set for a 6 p.m. start on July 3, at The Greens at North Hills golf course.

Organizers said an exciting event is planned, featuring a food truck lineup, a kids’ zone and parking all larger than in previous events. They remind patrons to remember to bring their chairs, blankets, games, and appetites.

Plans are for fireworks to light up the sky after nightfall and a DJ spinning tunes from the outdoor balcony.

“This event continues to grow each year, and we’re excited to celebrate with the community again,” said Mayor Mary Jo Heye-Townsell.

Other viewing opportunities exist in parking lots near the golf course.

The Sherwood Police Department does not recommend parking across Highway 107 or North Hills and attempting to walk across those streets. Public safety officials advised that if someone parks anywhere other than city-sponsored parking areas, they should plan to stay put and enjoy the fireworks from their current location or only walk in places where sidewalks and crosswalks are available.

The Fireworks and Foodtrucks event is free, but the Balcony Blast Fundraiser, a ticketed dinner and viewing event to benefit the COPPS Division of the Sherwood Police Department, will also take place. All proceeds support local outreach programs, including COPPS Kids Christmas and Coats for Kids. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com.
