Hundreds of runners from around the world participate in SoMa Main Street Mile
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – On Friday night, hundreds of runners from around the world strutted their stuff as part of the 2025 SoMa Main Street Mile.
More than 400 runners ran through downtown Little Rock with the overall male winner coming from Celina, Texas and the overall female winner from Prenton, England.
Dr. Logan Dockery, owner of Blue Rose Running Co. said that participation in this year’s event more than doubled from last year.
“The crowd support was nearly triple in size from 2024,” Dockery said. “The runners definitely felt the energy from the crowd cheering them on to the finish.”
Top Five Finishers (Male):
- 1st Place ($1,000) - Pete Johnson of Celina, Tx – 4:18
- 2nd Place ($500) - Nicholas Newby of Burleson, Tx – 4:24:17
- 3rd Place ($200) – Tanner Emmerson of Fayetteville, Ar – 4:24:34
- 4th Place ($100) – Hugh Bennett Pascoe of Conway, Ar – 4:24:55
- 5th Place ($50) – Jordan Smith of Little Rock, Ar – 4:26:02
Top Five Finishers (Female):
- 1st Place ($1,000) - Emily Haggard Kearney of Great Britain – 4:49
- 2nd Place ($500) - Sara Steimel of Jonesboro, Ar – 4:59
- 3rd Place ($200) – Erin Woodward of Bella Vista, Ar – 5:00
- 4th Place ($100) – Kaitlin Bounds of Russellville, Ar – 5:09
- 5th Place ($50) – Jordyn Naylon of Little Rock, Ar – 5:14
Dockery said that there is a powerful connection between physical and mental health and activities like running and walking strengthen both.
“We also recognize the strength of community and support,” Dockery said. “Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, completing a one mile run or witnessing others achieve it can inspire a powerful shift- a shift that is supported by a community and drives a step forward to better health, belonging, and self-belief.”
