Saline County releases results from weekend traffic stops

SALINE COUNTY, Ark. – As you may have noticed, a lot more law enforcement have been monitoring the roads this weekend

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday, 51 officers, deputies and troopers from the Arkansas State Police, the Benton Police Department and the Bryant Police Department held saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints county-wide.

According to deputies, there were several hundred stops made to keep roads safe, and produced some surprising results.

Of the 521 traffic stops made on Saturday, the findings resulted in:

  • 302 warnings were issued
  • 78 driving on suspended license/no license
  • 41 no insurance
  • 31 speeding citations
  • 10 DWI/DUI Arrests
  • 3 drug arrests
  • 8 fugitives apprehended
  • 5 felony arrests
  • 28 vehicles impounded.

Deputies said that the operation was funded through the STEP grant and is an ongoing effort to make Saline County safer.
